Nemea sits at the meeting point of history, landscape, and wine. A region shaped by ancient myths and centuries of winemaking, Nemea offers an experience that feels both timeless and very much alive today. From legendary stories of antiquity to the character of Agiorgitiko, this is a place where wine is deeply connected to its origins.
Located in the northeastern Peloponnese, Nemea is defined by rolling hills, diverse soils, and vineyards at different altitudes. This natural variety allows for a wide range of wine styles—from fresh and approachable reds to more structured, age-worthy expressions—each reflecting its specific corner of the region.
Wine has been part of life here since ancient times, when Nemea was known for the Nemean Games and the myth of Hercules and the Nemean Lion. These stories still shape the identity of the area, not as distant history, but as part of the landscape and local culture.
Today, Nemea is Greece’s largest Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) wine zone and the heartland of Agiorgitiko—often referred to as the “Blood of Hercules.” Local winemakers blend long-standing traditions with modern techniques, creating wines that feel authentic, expressive, and easy to enjoy.

With a degree in Oenology from the Athens University of Applied Sciences, Spyridoula knows wine from production to consumption. She has worked for many years both in wine tourism and in wine retail. With over 15 years of experience in the field, she is also a founding member of the Corinthian Wine Club.
After completing her postgraduate thesis on “Branding of Nemea Wine” and Level 2 of the internationalWSET program in Athens, she worked for several years in a winery, focusing on hospitality. She is a founding member of the Corinthian Wine Club.
